I wonder if there is any single-most widest fullest collection of models to use in SPICE. Each manufacturer has their own collections, of course, but I am not aware of any one place that collects SPICE models into one location. I am hardly a hard-core collector, but here are a few libraries and collection of SPICE model files. But first, a bit of a warning....
As I've written a few times in my various SPICE pages, there really isn't any one single "This is SPICE" program. Every version of SPICE is written by one company team or another, and none of them are able to resist the urge to add their own version's special features. As a result, small inconsistencies and incompatibilities are certain to show up. Linear Technologies' LTSPICE will have different features than OrCAD's PSPICE, which will differ slightly from Berkeley's NGSPICE, which will differ slightly grm GNUcap, which will difffer from .... OK, you get the idea. So, collecting as many device models as we all can, we are bound to find models that are not excatly completely 100% compatible. Generally, this takes the form of a SPICE simulation finding a device parameter in a model that it doesn't understand. Usually, the SPICE simulation will just issue a warning that it is ignoring the unknown parameter, but some SPICE programs will fail if they read a parameter they don't understand. The solution is usually just to manually edit the file containing that bad parameter. OK, you've been warned...
Once upon a long time ago, I came across a CD that had lots of libraries containing SPICE models. This collection contains over 20,000 models in it, so it's probably a decent place to start...
Now... I have no idea where these came from. These apparently came from "espice" that someone had installed on a G: drive, somewhere. There are lots of models, and a whole lot of sample SPICE programs.
