Windoze Startup Programs
by
Wenton L. Davis
I don't remember where I found this, but here are
places to look for what programs will auto-startup. I'm not sure how
much sense some of this makes...
Task Manager, startup Tab, Startup type
shell: startup
shell: common startup
Registry:
- User Startup: HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
- System Startup: HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
- User Startup 32-bit: HKCU\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
- System Startup 32-bit: HKTM\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
- include disabled: HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\StartupApproved\Run
- and HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\StartupApproved\Run
Or maybe it is Settings > Apps > Startup to
get to the shell:startup and shell:common startup directories.
